Buckskin Heights Fire Committee
The Buckskin Heights Fire Committee is a volunteer group, independent of the road association, that coordinates the fire mitigation and response efforts of resident owners in the Buckskin Heights community, as well as providing valuable sources of “Living in the mountains” practical information.

Become a volunteer
Becoming a member is simple and non binding, just come to meetings and events when possible and be willing to help out with projects through participation. Meetings are informal and open to new ideas regarding making our community safer and more fire resistant. By signing up to be an active member, you authorize us to send you emails / texts to notify you of meetings, projects and events related to the Committee.
Junior Members must be between 14 and 18 yrs. of age (Colorado requirements to legally operate an ATV / UTV), Must have a release of liability on file, signed by the guardians / parents and must undergo training, if required.

Projects presently underway or in planning
- Clearing the easement of tree limbs that overhang the roadway that might damage emergency response vehicles. (specifications suggested by the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority)
- Locate funding / grants for fire mitigation on the federal,state and local levels.
- Advise and assist property owners in the community on fire mitigation recommendations based on the Colorado State Forest Action Plan.
- Update and revise the Community Wildfire Protection Plan. (CWPP)
- Update the Buckskinheights Evacuation Plan.
- Host a educational meeting on alternate communications (n VHF /UHF /Short wave radio communications.
- Locate a discounted source for home / auto fire extinguishers.
- Maintain a line of communications with the B.H.R.A. Vice President to notify the Board of any road concerns.
